Terms

Last updated: June 13, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By using Read in Context, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Read in Context may update these Terms as the product changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.

2. What Read in Context is

Read in Context is an AI-assisted educational Bible study tool. It is designed to help readers slow down and consider literary setting, historical background, cultural context, key words, related passages, interpretive tensions, and cautions before applying a passage.

Read in Context may include AI-generated responses, passage search, topic suggestions, feedback tools, analytics, saved technical logs, and other features that support the service.

3. What Read in Context is not

Read in Context is not a pastor, counselor, church authority, emergency service, legal advisor, medical provider, mental-health provider, or final authority on Christian doctrine.

Do not use Read in Context for emergencies, crisis situations, abuse reporting, self-harm concerns, legal decisions, medical decisions, or confidential counseling needs. If you are in danger or need urgent help, contact emergency services or a qualified local professional.

4. Educational use and interpretation

Read in Context does not tell you what you must believe, what God is requiring of you, or how you must apply Scripture. It provides context to support prayer, study, reflection, and conversation with trusted community.

Bible interpretation can involve disagreement among faithful readers. Read in Context may describe major interpretive views, cautions, and tensions, but you are responsible for evaluating them carefully.

You are solely responsible for your beliefs, interpretations, decisions, actions, teaching, counseling, leadership, public statements, and personal application. Read in Context does not assume moral, spiritual, pastoral, legal, medical, mental-health, or professional responsibility for how you use the information it provides.

5. AI limitations

Read in Context uses AI-assisted tools and structured prompts to generate educational context. AI-generated answers can be incomplete, imprecise, outdated, biased, misleading, or wrong. AI output should not be treated as guaranteed, exhaustive, authoritative, inspired, pastoral counsel, professional advice, or a substitute for careful study.

You should verify important claims with trusted Bible translations, commentaries, teachers, scholars, pastors, and community before relying on them. Do not use AI output as the sole basis for important decisions.

6. User responsibilities

You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to interfere with it, reverse engineer protected parts of it, introduce harmful code, or use it in a way that violates law or harms others.

You agree not to enter sensitive personal information, confidential counseling details, private information about another person, emergency situations, or anything you would not want processed by an online service.

7. Bible translations and content

Read in Context may include short Bible preview snippets and references for educational navigation. English previews are intended to align with NIV wording, and Spanish previews are intended to align with NVI wording, but snippets should be verified against authorized sources before launch.

Read in Context does not provide full Bible text and does not replace a licensed Bible translation, study Bible, commentary, church, teacher, or scholarly resource.

8. Feedback

Read in Context may collect feedback such as helpful/not helpful responses, written comments if offered, diagnostics, and related technical information. Feedback may be used to improve the product, evaluate answer quality, fix problems, and develop future features.

9. Changes, suspension, and availability

Read in Context may change, pause, remove, or discontinue features at any time. The site may be unavailable from time to time because of maintenance, hosting issues, third-party services, or product changes.

10. No warranties

Read in Context is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Read in Context makes no warranties that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Read in Context and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses related to use of or reliance on the site, AI-generated content, analytics, feedback tools, third-party services, or any interpretation or application made by a user.

Read in Context is not responsible for harm, conflict, loss, discipline, employment consequences, ministry decisions, relationship consequences, spiritual distress, public statements, teaching decisions, counseling decisions, or other outcomes that result from a user's use of or reliance on the service.

Some places do not allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

To the fullest extent allowed by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Read in Context and its owner from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, violation of law, infringement of another person's rights, or reliance on the service in a way that causes harm to you or others.
